Career Development the City of Ember Way

A couple of months ago I watched the movie "City of Ember." In Ember, career development is pretty simple: on graduation day at school, the mayor presents each student a bag from which they pull job choices. Into the bag goes the exact jobs needed by the city - for examples, two messengers, one clerk, three janitors. And then the students just pull the jobs from the bag.
